Connie Kurtz – Owner
Connie has a strong love of animals and has always wanted to own her own business. When her daughter became a Dog Groomer and showed interest in the same, the partnership and opportunity arose and Hair O’ The Dog Pet Salon was created! Connie has lived in Austin since 1997. She is married and is the proud mother of three children, one step daughter, two dogs and one fat cat. Oh yes, and her vintage trailer, “Poppy”. She has a B.S. in psychology as well as an MBA.
Brianna Ward – Owner, Pet Stylist
Brianna has been a pet stylist for 7 years. Brianna’s first career was as a real estate agent. Although very successful, she realized her real love and passion was in working with animals (as well as people!). In 2009 she made the move to study at Classy Pet Grooming School in Colorado, where she earned a degree as a Certified Pet Stylist. Owning her own business has always been her dream, a reality now with the creation of Hair O’ the Dog Pet Salon. When not working at the shop Brianna spends her time with her significant other, Ty, her beautiful 2 year old daughter, Amelia, and her very large, rambunctious sheepdog, George.
Randi Troxel – Pet Stylist
Randi Troxel hails from Texas and is proud to be deaf. After a life changing experience with a very special pet cat, she decided to try her hand at grooming and attended Golden Paws Grooming School in Houston. She fell in love with grooming and has been doing it happily now for six years. Randi’s favorite part of grooming is seeing the smile on her clients’ faces and knowing that they are happy with the difference she’s made in both their pets’ appearance and comfort. She and her husband TJ live with their two beautiful children and Duff, a five year old
Rottweiler and a wonderful best friend/service dog, whose name Randi chose for her love of “The Simpsons.”
Tonya Stommel – Pet Stylist
Tonya lived most of her life in Amarillo, Texas until moving to the Austin area 3 yrs ago. She has spent the majority of her time working with animals. She is a certified cruelty investigator and has a diploma in animal science. For 5 years she was the vice president/kennel manager of a local animal shelter. There she conducted cruelty investigation, overseen health and husbandry of all animals, assisted in adoptions, and helped coordinate fundraising events, and general clerical duties. From there she moved on to a local veterinarian office where she was kennel manager and a level II technician. She would assist veterinarian in surgery, exam rooms, reception, and boarding. She began grooming in 2005 with a friend she went to cruelty school with and who also worked at the same local animal shelter. They worked together until she moved to Austin where she has continued her passion in grooming. She is always up for a challenge especially if it is for the best interest of the animal.
Tracy Corral, Pet Stylist
Faith, family, dogs and dancing are a few of my favorite things. I started my career as a cosmetologist, after twelve years my love for dogs has changed my focus, onto a pet stylist pursuit.
I have two dogs and two cats that are a vital part of my family, and when I’m making your pet beautiful I treat them as my own. I feel very fortunate to be working with an exceptional team of groomers that share that motto at the heart of Hair O’ the Dog.
I’m being trained by some of the best, Brianna Ward the owner and Tonya Ashley Stommel, with safety first always for your pets. Consistency in grooming is key for dogs becoming comfortable with the process and for us to develop a friendship with them.
I look forward to working with you and your dog, they will leave here looking and smelling wonderful. With all of us working together it will be a positive experience for all of us.
